Fraud Exposure and Cash-Flow Estimator
Enter posted unauthorized transactions, pending suspicious amounts, known costs and essential payments separately. The result organizes what to discuss with the provider; it does not predict reimbursement.
Private calculation: amounts stay in this browser. No values are saved or transmitted by TONIGHT.you.
Separate the transaction record from the cash-flow problem
Use one currency throughout. Enter amounts only, without account or card details.
What this number means: it organizes the amounts you may need to discuss. It does not predict reimbursement, liability, recovery time or a provider decision.
How to read the four totals
Each total answers a different question. Keeping them separate prevents a pending item from being described as posted and prevents an upcoming bill from being described as fraud loss.
| Output | Useful question | What it does not establish |
|---|---|---|
| Posted impact | What has already reduced the account, including known direct costs? | Whether every amount will be returned |
| Reported exposure | What posted and pending activity should be raised with the provider? | What the final posted total will be |
| Near-term amount | What money may be needed to cover impact and essential payments? | Whether credit or temporary funds are available |
| Planning gap | What remains after currently accessible money is considered? | A recommendation to borrow or move money |
Use the snapshot in a provider conversation
Exposure and cash flow answer different questions
Known and pending exposure is the activity you need to identify and discuss. The cash-flow figure adds essential payments and known costs to posted unauthorized activity, helping you explain what may become urgent while the provider reviews the case.
How to prepare the amounts
Work from the provider's current transaction list and label posted and pending items separately. Use the same currency throughout, exclude transactions you recognize, and keep merchant descriptors or transaction references in a separate incident record.
What the result cannot predict
The totals are planning figures, not a forecast of reimbursement, liability, provisional credit or investigation time. Those outcomes depend on the payment type, facts, jurisdiction and provider process. Report the compromise immediately even if a suspicious item is still pending.
Questions about fraud exposure totals
Which currency should I use?
Use any one currency consistently. The calculator does not convert currencies or attach a currency symbol.
Why are essential payments included?
They are not part of the suspected fraud total. They show the short-term amount you may need to discuss if unavailable funds put necessities at risk.
Sources for reporting and recovery boundaries
These references explain why suspicious activity should be reported promptly and why the calculator avoids predicting reimbursement.
Move from amounts to the correct response
Use the snapshot beside Freeze a card and report fraud, Build card-dispute evidence, or Act after a deceptive transfer.
Use amounts, not credentials
Never enter an account number, card number, password, one-time code or government ID. A short currency label such as USD is enough.
Report suspicious activity through the provider's official app, website or verified phone number. Do not wait for this calculation before making a report.
